I had the opportunity to visit the three Sandals Resorts in St Lucia and cannot describe the lush beauty of this island and friendliness of the people of St. Lucia. I stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucian which certainly lives up to its name!! It is the farthest from the Hewanorra Int’l. Airport (UVF) but no worries, shared transfers are provided by Sandals. I chose to upgrade to the private car transfer which is very nice and have done the helicopter transfer in the past which is amazing, just ask for details. There is water on both sides of this resort, Caribbean on the beach side and the Atlantic on the ocean side. Many restaurants to choose from and nice nightlife.
Sandals in St. Lucia has the feature of “Stay at One and Play at Three” – by staying at any of the three Sandals resorts, Sandals Grande, Sandals Halcyon Beach or Sandals Regency La Toc, you have exchange privileges and included transportation between the three resorts so the options are endless!!!
Each resort has a different feel – Sandals Halcyon is a small intimate resort with a great beach, it is in the middle of the other two Sandals.
Sandals Regency La Toc is the closest to the airport – approx. 1 hour transfer and boasts it’s own 9 hole golf course located directly on the property with complimentary greens fees.
Nonstop airfare on American Airlines is available from PHL every Saturday from the first of January to the end of April, the nonstop flight is always the way to go if possible!! The rest of the year, it’s a connecting flight from PHL or BWI.
Try St. Lucia, you’ll love it, I haven’t been to Hawaii yet but I’ve heard it’s the “Hawaii of the Caribbean” with many great tours available and with “Stay at One and Play at Three”, you’ll have a total of Twenty Seven 5 Star Global Gourmet options to choose from – all included!!! Leave your wallet in your room safe since there’s no tipping allowed (optional for butler service guests).
